TVA has been honored to have had Presidents that have been volleyball enthusiasts and are committed to growing the game. TVA and organized beach volleyball began with Harry Pincus Jr’s passion and desire to find a way to help grow the sport. In 1962, Pinicus Jr founded TVA and became a driving force and advocate to make volleyball a high school sport in both Virginia Beach and Norfolk. He and his great long-time friend, Monroe Farmer, introduced Two-Man Beach Volleyball to Virginia Beach and for over 42 years Harry played, coached, officiated and promoted Volleyball - locally, nationally and internationally with unique and exceptional success.
He served as TVA’s President for 18 years.
Steve Blevins also shared this passion of growing volleyball. In 2009, Blevins became TVA’s President. His volleyball career came full circle from playing at Virginia Tech, founding a local youth club, growing adult beach leagues at TVA, organizing his own corporate league, and playing in the Mossyback League and by coaching young women and men, including his son and daughter. His relationship with Volley America (now AVP) helped bring large beach volleyball events to Virginia Beach. Blevins was also a Coach and the Boys Director for Coastal Virginia Volleyball Club.
BIG Money, whether it was beach or hard court, always held a special place in Blevins’ heart.
The Blevins Memorial BIG Money is the first BIG Money 6s event TVA has been able to host since November 2019 and we would like to continue the Blevins Legacy and pass the volleyball to keep the game going and growing!
TVA is asking for your support, your gift or sponsorship will help keep Blevins Legacy alive. A portion of your donation will be donated to cancerresearch.org in memory of Steve Blevins. If your business would like to make a corporate donation, see our corporate sponsorship flyer that is attached.
Thank you for your kindness and your generosity.
